Laura Owen is the founder and CEO of Ponscio, an online social networking site that connects and advances women entrepreneurs worldwide, driving economic and social change, supported by education, mentoring, and access to capital. As CEO of PontSalus, Laura advised international Ministries of Health, supporting the transformation of healthcare, by facilitating relationships with best-in-class healthcare leaders, and establishing localized organizational models. She has deep domain experience in healthcare with extensive experience in strategy formulation, new product development, and leadership.
Laura was Co-Founder and President/COO of ICOP Digital, Inc. (NASDAQ: ICOP), a company that engineers and markets mobile video products for first responders, worldwide. As Kansas Secretary of Commerce (KDOC), she led international trade, business development, and travel and tourism.
She served as Regional Branch Manager for Stephens Inc., the largest investment banking firm in the US, off Wall Street.
In addition to many state boards and commissions, Laura served on the board of Heart to Heart International for ten years, delivering over $1 billion in medicine and medical supplies to areas of need.
In 2007, Laura was awarded selection to the “Women Who Mean Business” organization, by the Kansas City Business Journal, and was honored among 2009 “Influential Women” by Kansas City Business magazine. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of
Check-6, an international solutions company which moves client enterprises from experience-based cultures to high reliability organizations via training and an integrated suite of products, services, and procedures; and on the Board of Trustees of Delaware Valley University and Ottawa University. Laura holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Delaware Valley University in Philadelphia.
